ART·IN·ART is a non-profit civil company established on November 20, 2019, with a clear cultural orientation. It is dedicated to supporting the arts and artistic creation as a means of expression, contributing—through artistic, educational, and cultural initiatives—to the enhancement of quality of life and cultural awareness, as well as the promotion of values, ideas, and social goals.

The ART·IN·ART team is composed of an interdisciplinary group of artists, scientists, and scholars from diverse fields, working together to foster meaningful dialogue between art, science, and society.

ART·IN·ART remains open to collaborations with institutions, organizations, and creators who share common values and objectives.

MARILENA STAFYLIDOU

PHOTOGRAPHER, CEO & COFOUNDER
Marilena Stafylidou is a photographer, curator, and photography educator with extensive experience in international artistic and humanitarian work. She directs The Palm Tree Workshops Space and The Palm Tree Art Residency in Santorini through the nonprofit organization Art-In-Art. Since 1993, she has collaborated with Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors Without Borders), while her work explores art, transformation, and the concept of time. www.art-in-art.gr www.marilenastafylidou.com

MARIA TOPALI

POET
Maria Topali, born in Thessaloniki, is a poet, translator, and literary critic with an international presence. She works at the National Centre for Social Research, writes poetry and book reviews, and translates from German authors such as Rilke and Habermas. Her poems have been published and translated internationally into many languages.

NATASA KOUTSOURI

PHYSICIAN
Anastasia Koutsouri, an internal medicine specialist and Director of the 1st Internal Medicine Clinic and Geriatric Center at Errikos Dynan Hospital, is advancing geriatrics in Greece through a holistic, interdisciplinary approach and by raising awareness among healthcare professionals. She is a graduate of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA), a member of the EuGMS (European Geriatric Medicine Society), with postgraduate training and an active role in the EuGMS Academic Board.

EVI NOMIKOU

PROFESSOR, NKUA – VOLCANOLOGIST
Paraskevi Nomikou, Professor of Physical Geography and Geological Oceanography at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA), specializes in the study of submarine volcanoes and active faults, with a focus on the Santorini volcanic field and the Kolumbo volcano. She has an extensive international network of collaborations, experience in scientific expeditions, and works on innovative digital applications that highlight geocultural heritage and the natural environment.

ANASTASIA MITROPANOU

PhD Candidate in Anthropology
Anastasia Mitropanou is a PhD candidate in Anthropology and Critical Romani Studies at the Department of Balkan, Slavic, and Oriental Studies at the University of Macedonia, and a research associate of the Panhellenic Confederation of Greek Roma “ELLAN PASSE.” She studied Russian Philology at the Department of Russian Language, Philology and Slavic Studies at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA), and Acting at the Drama School of the Art Theatre “Karolos Koun.”

JESSICA BACKHAUS

Visual artist
Jessica Backhaus, a German-American visual photographer, studied in Paris and worked in New York. She is recognized as a significant voice in contemporary photography, with numerous exhibitions, major collections, and ten published photobooks. She lives in Berlin and has been honored with a documentary about her work by FOAM.

KOSTIS SOTIRAKOS

GRAPHIC DESIGNER
Kostis Sotirakos is an independent graphic designer and illustrator. He specializes in visual identity, packaging, book and print design, posters, as well as illustration and digital applications. He has collaborated with the Onassis Foundation’s Stegi as an educator in programs for children and teenagers, and he maintained a long-term partnership with the educational workshops department of the Zurich Design Museum.
